Club Competitions 2020

I have pleasure in advising you that the reduced Club Competitions that were held this year have now been completed with the last Final match being played on Thursday.

From the start of August we had 24 players entering (for comparison last year we had 34 players entering) and with the addition of the Ladies and Mens Singles competitions which were added at a later date there were 8 events run overall.

The events resulted in 60 games being played, with 5 other games being given as walkovers (mostly due to personal health of the competitors at the time which matches were due to be played). Of those 60 games, it was encouraging to see that 16 of them were either won on the last or next to last end including 3 games that required an extra end to obtain a winner. So congratulations to all of those who played with some good close bowling in evidence during this year’s events, let’s hope we can gain on this momentum and increase the numbers of participants next year.
