Each day is divided into eight, 1 hour time slots, from 10am to 5pm. Agreed days/times for availability of each type of mat are shown in table alongside. Home matches are allocated a total of 4 time slots, including the 1 hour slot preceding the fixture start time. This allows time for preparation and ckearing up of clubhouse and mats. Mat reservation is not necessary to accommodate matches as they are automatically ‘greyed out’ and not available for booking. Formal, arranged practice and roll-up sessions also have pre-booked times and are clearly shown in the mat schedule and on the fixture list.
Where times are shown as ‘bookable’ this does not apply to slots allocated to home matches or formal practice. These will also be ‘greyed out’ and not available to book. If a match is re-scheduled for a time usually allocated to the ‘other’ mat type, this will have priority over any booking or casual play reservation. In casual play, members who have booked have priority over those who have not.
Booking of time-slots for each type of mat is enabled, provided that:
The type of mat required is allocated for the day/time to be booked.
There is no match or official practice taking place.
The time slot has not already been booked.
Bookings can be made up to 30 days in advance. The system will not allow bookings to be made beyond that or for times which do not meet the above criteria. It is still advisable to check the fixture list and existing reservations, prior to booking, to avoid attempts to book an unavailable time.
In order to book, go to the Booking System, in the member’s area, under the the type of mat required, select the number of mats required (max 2) then the date/time you require. It will be ‘greyed out’ if not available. Your details will fill in automatically, as you have to be logged in to access the system. You can optionally add a note in the appropriate box, confirming the reason for the booking, such as roll-up, practice, club match, etc.. If you require longer than 1 hour, you can book consecutive slots but this has to be done as separate transactions. Feb 2026: We are trialling a modification which allows two times to be reserved in the same transaction. To action this, simply select the number of mats required (1 or 2) in both slot boxes, then select two adjacent times. If there is insufficient capacity to fulfill the entire request, it will not reserve any. Please provide feedback, which you believe will be helpful.
If booking is successful, the member making the booking will receive a confirmation email, and the reserved time-slot will change to unavailable. The email contains a cancellation link, so retain it, in case you need to cancel the booking. The booking will also transfer to the ‘bookings made’ list, which is visible to other members.
Club etiquette is for outgoing players to leave correct type of mats down for the incoming group. Do not play up to the end of your session time, but allow time for clearing up and preparation. The incoming players should be able to start playing at the begining of their session. For this reason, all users should be familiar with the process for swapping/storing mats and using the storage rollers, as well as ensuring the necessary assistance is available to manage this task.
Members wishing to turn up and play without booking may do so, on the understanding that bookings have priority, they are responsible for any mat swapping, and they must ensure the correct mats are left in place, according to the schedule. Again, it is advisable to check fixtures and bookings prior to making any arrangemets.
Due to limited resource (2 mats only), if you are booked for casual play, you are asked to accommodate others who may wish to play or practice at the same time.
