The Big Coronation Bowls Drive – What a Day! (images)

Lovely way to celebrate the Coronation; plenty of enthusiastic bowlers in red, white and blue, a barbecue (thanks to Chris and John), fun bowls matches (thanks to Linda for organising the draws and keeping sane when sorting out the teams and scorecards), a raffle which Elaine Dodd ran with calm efficiency, a fun quiz, where you were encouraged to cheat (well done the ‘Woodmen’ for coming 1st and 2nd with identical scores???), a special prize for sartorial elegance (well improvised Lucie) with a letter from the King (perhaps we’ll soon be ‘Royal Mylor Bowls Club – by appointment).  The day was rounded off with live entertainment from the Sancto Singers and Andy Lobb.

Special mention to Jan for initiating, planning and generally running everything not mentioned above.  You earned your glass of wine that evening.

In excess of £300 was raised, some going to our chosen charity, and the balance into the 50th anniversary fund.
