Club Competitions – Draw and Results update

Follow the progress in all eight championships which are played over the course of the summer season.

The following events are played as individual tournaments on specific days and, as such, are not included in the draw sheets:
Men’s Drawn Pairs – 29th June / Ladies 2-wood (Edie Ferry) – 10th July / Mixed Triples – 3rd August / Ladies’ Drawn Pairs – 28th August.

Competition Rules

Every match in a Club competition shall be played in accordance with Bowls England Rules

 Singles Championships ( Men Ladies Mixed )
A singles match, each player having four woods. The winner is the first player to reach 21 shots.

 Handicap Singles ( Men and Ladies )
A singles match, each player having four woods. The winner is the first player to reach the target number of shots taking into account the respective players’ handicaps as determined each year by the Club selection committee. The shot target for the player with the lower handicap shall be 21 shots; that for the player with the higher handicap shall be 21 shots plus the difference between the handicaps of the two players.

Men’s (Drawn) Pairs
A pairs match, each player having four woods. The winners are the pair to achieve the higher shots score after 18 ends. In the event of a tie after 18 ends an extra end shall be played.

Mixed Pairs
A pairs match, each player having four woods. The winners are the pair to achieve the higher shots score after 18 ends. In the event of a tie after 18 ends an extra end shall be played.

Mixed (Drawn) Triples
A triples match, each player having three woods. The winners are the triple to achieve the higher shots score after 18 ends. In the event of a tie after 18 ends an extra end shall be played.  

Three Sets of Seven Ends
A singles match for men and ladies, each player having four woods. The winner of each set is the player who has the highest score after seven ends. The winner of the match is the player who wins the greater number of sets. In the event of a tie after three sets an extra end shall be played.

3-2-1
A singles match for men and ladies, each player having three woods. The wood which finishes closest to the jack scores three shots, the wood which is next nearest scores two shots and the third nearest scores one shot. The winner is the player who first scores 65 shots. In the event that after the last end played both players’ scores have reached or exceeded 65, the winning player shall be the one whose wood finishes nearest to the jack on that end.

Disputes
In the case of any dispute arising the decision of the Competition Secretary will be final.
