Mylor Magazine – December article

As one season ends another begins and we are now enjoying the indoor bowling.  Several league games have already been played, by both the Short Mat and Carpet bowlers, with promising results.

We were delighted to entertain U3A with a carpet bowls match recently.  What a great morning was had, fun and laughter mixed with a natural competitive spirit.  U3A won the day and were rewarded with tea and homemade cake.  It is hoped they will return for another match in the new year.

At the same time several of our ladies attended a luncheon at Tehidy Golf Club for the annual Bowls Group 4 prize giving.  Two of our members received awards:  Jan Barnard was the Champion of Champions and Liz Maunder winner of the Secretaries Cup and runner up in the 4-wood singles.   The club has had a very successful season and we look forward to even more triumphs next year.
