President’s Day 2026

A cold and very windy day made for difficult playing conditions in this traditional season-opening fixture.

Thrty-eight members played a shortened match oas ver fourteen ends, on a three-quarter length green. With all six rinks in use, the cumulative score saw the President’s team narrowly defeat the Captain’s side.  Irrespective of the result, it was good to be on grass again after what has seemed like an intermiably long, wet Winter.

All agreed that the warming casserole was the perfect choice of post-match meal and the atmosphere was lightened by the President’s dry humour, typified by his stand-up routine!
