Indoor mat availability – new instructions

Due to increasing damage to our indoor bowls mats, the availability schedule has been revised.  This is to minimise the amount of loading and unloading the mats on and off the rollers, and also to allow the mats to ‘rest’, which is recommended to maintain as true a playing surface as possible.

This means it is more important for players to plan their visits and to accommodate other players wishing to play at the same time.

On the booking page (although booking mats is currently suspended) the availability chart shows which mats are ‘down’ at which times.  This is for the most part one mat of each type, although for some sessions, there will only be play on one mat, even though both are laid out.

Hopefully, this does not cause too much inconvenience, but is necessary to prevent further damage to these very expensive assets.
