We are saddened to hear that Mike Diston has passed away, after a prolonged illness, during which he remained active and positive to the end.
Mike as an unmistakeable character on the green, in his special bowling chair, pushed by the ever supporting Diane, or another club colleague, privileged to be appointed to the task.

There was no doubting Mike’s prowess at bowls, where he competed with and against able-bodied bowlers, on equal terms, as an ‘A’ team player. Mike also played at Leamington in National Finals, one year reaching the semi-finals of the Disabled Singles, and on another occasion being runner-up. A further accolade was being picked to represent England Disabled Bowlers in Australia.
Mike also gave a substantial amount of his time in the running of the club, having been Club Captain and holding the position of Chairman for nine years.
Our thoughts are with Diane and family at this difficult time, and we hope that knowing the esteem in which Mike was held at the Bowls Club, will bring some crumb of comfort.
