Club Mixed Pairs competition – further update
Due to player availability on the proposed date for the revised mixed pairs, it has now reverted back to a ‘play by date’ competition. Apologies for any inconvenience.

With regard to the Club Mixed pairs competition, this was voted at the 2021 AGM to change the format to a Drawn Pairs entry system. However, this proposal for change was put forward on the basis that it was unknown whether the original donation of the trophy was made with any stipulation as to the format of the competition. It has recently been ascertained that the trophy was donated by Jean & Harry Alderson for the purpose of husband and wife pairs to enter a competition together (i.e. not a pairing drawn on the day). This has evolved over the years to become a named mixed pair. The committee has today voted unanimously to return the competition to being ‘named pairs’. It will still be played as an ‘on the day’ game.
For the following members that have already entered on a ‘drawn on the day basis’ you have the chance to team up with one of the other players below, or indeed encourage someone else to enter the competition as your partner (as is normal, we need more men). If you wish to withdraw due to this change then please advise me asap.
