Booking System – WInter 2026-27
Based upon our experience last winter, it has been decided to suspend the booking of mats for carpet and short-mat bowling until club competitions commence in 2027.
This is due to the fact that, outside of official practice sessions, there were few occasions when the use was over subscribed, and any players who turned up could be accommodated by a standard set up of one mat of each type being available.
It is therefore proposed that, except for official practice and home matches (i.e. casual play periods), there would always be available one carpet and one short mat facility. There is, however, the flexibility that, should there be a high demand for either type of mat, and no usage of the other type, switching of mats would be allowed, to satisfy the requirement.
On official practice periods and home match days, no switching is permitted, with match days converting to roll-ups, if there was no match being played.
With a little cooperation and applying common sense, this will allow the maximum availability to both types of game, whilst minimising the swap out of mats and ensuring everyone fully understands their availability.
Please note that, from time to time, fixtures may be added or changed. This will necessitate a change to the schedule, but it will be well publicised in advance.
