Grants approved
From Chris Johns, Hon.Sec. – 30th April 2020
During this period of lock-down the club Treasurer, Tony Hill, has been actively following up on a variety of information regarding grants that might be available to clubs such as ours, in order to sustain the facility through these difficult times. On behalf of the club he has made applications for grants on a local level from Cornwall Council, and also at the national level with Sport England.
I have pleasure in reporting that Mylor club has been approved for grants from both of those authorities, the council grant having already been received to our account just recently, and the Sport England grant has been offered and will this week be processed for acceptance. Tony is now in the process of studying the terms and conditions that belong to these grants, and will then route the funds into ensuring that our club and it’s facilities are kept on a sound financial basis ready for a return to bowls when conditions permit. Further information will follow.
In addition I can inform you that our Chairman Brian Jeffries has started compiling a list of precautionary procedures that may need to be in place when the club is permitted to be re-opened. These will initially be considered on a committee level to prepare a ‘ready to use list’ and then kept pending until they are able to be put into action, subject to a final review to ensure they are in line with the recommendations at that time.
