Mylor ladies flying high! It gets better!
Addendum 2nd September: Note that Golden Years Final moved to Bodmin on 3rd September at 1 pm.
Further to the earlier post below, our ladies did us proud again, with a comprehensive win over Chacewater, to claim the G4 Captain’s Shield trophy. An impressive six on the last end made the final score 28-17.
Not to be outdone, our intrepid pairing of Sue Kelly and the ever present Linda Storey, went on to take the G4 Golden Years crown, with a somewhat tighter result, edging Chacewater (again) by a single shot, 16-15.
Well done ladies, no wonder you all look so pleased. We wish you well in your respective, county semi-finals as follows: Golden Years at Redruth on 13th August, Captains Shield at St. Stephen on 9th September, and hopefully the finals, also to be held on September 9th at St. Stephen Bowling Club (near St. Austell) All games commence 09:30.

On a rare, hot, sunny day, Sue Kelly and Linda Storey played the semi-final of the Golden Years (surely they are too young to qualify) against Mawnan and won a very exciting match by one shot.
In the afternoon, it was the semi-final of the Captain’s Shield between Mylor (Linda Storey, Sue Walker, Elaine Beckton and Sue Rath) and Newquay Trenance. Another very tight game, amazingly with the same result. Mylor again winning by a single shot. The Captain’s Shield final is against Chacewater and takes place on Friday at Carnon Downs, starting at 09:30, but please check first as this is still to be confirmed.
