Following the Executive meeting on Monday it has now been decided that the competition for Ladies and Mens Championship Singles will be run regardless of how many entries come forward.
The competition will be run as a drawn event, with games to be organised by the players themselves on a soon as possible basis in consideration of the limited time we have until close of the season on Saturday 26th September. Entry fee will be the same £2 as other competitions.
I will be attending the club for both sessions of this Wednesdays League bowls (to collect money for other competitions), if you are there at that time then I will take names for entries. If you are not at the club this Wednesday then please advise me a.s.a.p. if you wish to take part, cut off date for entry is this Friday evening 14th, as I wish to get the draws done and sent out over the weekend.
To clarify the situation – it has currently been stated by Bowls England that the winner of these events will be permitted to enter the National Champion of Champions competition next year (if they wish) along with Club Champions from 2019 carried over eligible to enter as well.
Bowls Cornwall are taking a different approach and will only allow entry to Champion of Champions via the County system for the 2019 winner carried over.
Any members that are not currently listed as having acknowledged the Covid control measure in place who wishes to take part will need to request these from me and acknowledge such before starting to play.
